SimplyHome Customer Service Team Participates in CQL Interviewer and Trainer Courses

Focusing on people’s individual outcomes is critical in our work at SimplyHome. We recognize that each of the people we work with has unique needs specific to their own lives. To further enable this person-centered approach, we are excited to announce that our Customer Service team recently participated in the continuing education in CQL person-centered interviewing and planning.

“Customer Service Representatives at SimplyHome receive extensive training on the intake and assessment process with new clients. So even though we already take a person-centered approach to plan for technology integration, we wanted our team to engage in CQL training as a way of enhancing their interview and planning skills,” said Customer Service Manager, Gabrielle Corey.

The courses covered how to have an individualized outcome approach when working with customers. The Customer Service team reviewed the philosophies and practices integrated into Personal Outcomes Measures and person-centered planning. They also learned interviewing techniques that are inclusive of people with I/DD. 

How the CQL Courses Will Benefit Customers 

“Our Customer Service team is committed to empowering the people we support so that those individuals can self-determine what it is they want for their lives. That can mean including them in the assessment process and listening to their priorities and concerns. We also believe in abiding by a higher standard in our commitment to our customers. Not only did this training offer us an opportunity to learn new practices, but it also reinforced to our team that our approach to assessment is very person-centered,” said Director of Education, Cameron Kempson, M.Ed.  

Education and training are key to developing professionals who are qualified and effective in their job roles. The CQL virtual training opportunity will help our Customer Service team with enhanced assessment skills that keep the customer's preferences at the heart of the process.
