Meet Dakota
Meet Dakota, a young man who had the desire to live on his own. Dually diagnosed with mental health challenges and IDD, his mother knew that with the right natural supports in place, Dakota could live in a supported community setting rather than a group home. His team also agreed that given his behavioral challenges, living alone could actually be a better option than congregate living.
“I like living on my own. I want to have my friends over and hang out. I don’t need someone here all the time because I’m an adult,” said Dakota.
