SimplyHome To Be Awarded Innovation for Technology
We’re excited to announce that SimplyHome will be recognized and awarded The Innovation Award for Technology at the i2i Pinehurst Conference. The award is in partnership with Easterseals UCP and Trillium Health Resources. Specifically, SimplyHome customized enabling technology to outfit a Smart Home that is used as a transition to independent living home as part of the Easterseals UCP Transition to Employment (TTE) program. The award will formally be presented on December 9th at the award ceremony.
The customized Smart Home uses both SimplyHome technology and a phased living approach to prepare and empower individuals living with disabilities as they move toward greater independence. Some of the SimplyHome technology installed includes door sensors, a Ring video doorbell, smart locks, oven sensors, and two-way audio and video devices where residents and support staff can easily communicate. Additionally, staff safely supports residents remotely overnight through SimplyHome technology.
Residents within the home spend each weekday evening with a coach, working onsite to develop living skills like cooking healthy meals, paying bills, dividing chores, and adhering to a roommate agreement.
Choice is an important social determinant of health, so all residents of the Easterseals UCP Smart Home (now and in the future) will make decisions about meal preparation, leisure activities, how they decorate, and if they bring a pet.
