Article Features Tuneberg Remote Supports Fund, SimplyHome technology

Sophia walks down the stairs, headed to her basketball practice. Sophia is living independently in the community through the Tuneberg Remote Supports Project, which uses technology customized by SimplyHome.

Recently the Aaron Tuneberg Remote Supports Project was featured in the Daily Camera, the Boulder, Colorado newspaper.

This program is being run by Imagine!, a Boulder County non-profit that helps people with developmental disabilities. Imagine! partners with SimplyHome to provide technology to their clients at multiple locations, so that those clients can gain safety and independence while living on their own in the community.

Betsy Hicks talks about how the Aaron Tuneberg Fund has helped her daughter live independently.

"We're looking at new ways to keep people in the community in a safe and secure setting that also supports independence," said Greg Wellems, the manager of the project and the chief operating officer at Imagine! "The idea is to use technology in a community-based setting that will allow people to be monitored remotely and will allow their loved ones or caregivers to know when they are home, what area of the apartment or living space they are accessing, remotely lock doors, remotely let people know what facilities they are using, and support them with medication."
