This Is Where It All Began
In 1989, Drue and Allen Ray founded SimplyHome.
Their mission was simple: to empower those with intellectual or developmental disabilities to live, simply, at home.
By integrating human-centered care and smart sensor technology, SimplyHome expands reach-of-care, enhances outcomes, and reduces costs for individuals and I/DD providers.
Today, SimplyHome serves clients across the United States and Canada from our headquarters in North Carolina. It’s still run by the Allen family to this day.

Where Smart Technology and Human-Centered Support Meet
Policy Advocacy That Expands Access
SimplyHome works directly with states and agencies to shape policy and Medicaid frameworks that allow technology to be used as a legitimate, person-centered support, expanding access while improving outcomes and sustainability.
Industry-Recognized Technology Leadership
SimplyHome partners with SHIFT technology accreditation to help providers understand how enabling technology supports independent living—and how it can be appropriately claimed within state funding and Medicaid frameworks, accelerating acceptance and adoption across the industry.
Federally Funded Innovation for Veterans
In 2016, SimplyHome was awarded the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs SAHAT grant, recognizing our leadership in developing assistive technologies that help veterans and service members live independently in their own homes.
Inside Our Culture at SimplyHome
SimplyHome’s culture reflects the lives we help create: connected, human, and purpose-driven.
We encourage flexibility, volunteerism, and balance, because people do their best work when they feel supported, trusted, and connected to their purpose.
